O. Collier Street Parkade

The Collier Street Parkade is a relatively newer addition to our downtown core. The exploration of my own city over the years has opened my eyes to finding beauty where you least expect it.

Even in a parking garage, you can find colour, texture, light, and movement. I love the stillness, expansiveness, and solitude of this image. 

Urban design can have a great impact on the mental health of a community. Studies have shown links between public spaces and mental health, including urban greenery, scale, and design of buildings.

The pandemic has been challenging for many not-for-profit organizations. I have donated for several years to New Path and I was looking for a creative way to be able to donate again this year.

Children are the forgotten voices of the pandemic. We have seen a devastating impact on the mental health of many children and youth, not only in our community but across the world during the past year.
